Strong Financial Leadership for a More Affordable Wellington

Andrea Compton brings a wealth of experience in financial management and strategic infrastructure asset development, making her a key asset to the Independent Together team’s mission to reduce rates and restore Wellington as an affordable place to live.

She recently took on the role of Group Financial Controller at StraitNZ Limited. Before that, she spent four years at HEB Construction as Finance Manager for both the Transmission Gully project and the iReX Portside Development. She also worked for eight years in finance at Transpower. Internationally, Andrea held senior roles as Financial Controller for Westfield London (Olympic site project) and Honeywell’s 2012 Olympics Security programme.

Born and raised in Wellington, Andrea now raises her family in Tawa. She is known for her integrity, purpose-driven leadership, and clear commitment to doing what’s right for the community.

Andrea believes Wellington is, and can continue to be, an incredible place to live, work, visit, and do business. She’s standing to help make that vision a reality.
