Making Wellington More Accessible, Accountable, and Inclusive
Ken believes Wellington City Council must undergo fundamental changes to become more accessible and accountable to ratepayers. He is particularly concerned about ongoing issues around street safety and the growing challenges associated with increased social housing in the central city – issues that many ratepayers feel are not being addressed effectively. Strong, experienced representation is needed to navigate the Council’s current social, cultural, and economic responsibilities. Ken is committed to improving living arrangements for people with mental health or complex needs and wants to ensure the Council actively promotes cultural awareness and meaningful recognition of the many communities that call Wellington home.
Ken and his partner, Frances, are both lawyers and proud parents of five adult children. For the past seven years, they have operated Ah Kuoi Law in Kilbirnie, serving the Eastern Suburbs with dedication and care. Fluent in both Samoan and English, Ken is passionate about Wellington’s diversity, its rich mix of cultures, vibrant community spirit, outstanding sports facilities, and, of course, its beautiful coastline, where he loves to fish. Ken is ready to bring his voice, values, and lived experience to the Council table.
