DAN MILWARD

Dan Milward is a tech entrepreneur and educator with over 20 years’ experience in the games industry. He owns an education business that has helped millions of children around the world learn creative coding through game design.

Dan has led global projects in collaboration with UNESCO, delivered educational initiatives with Ngāti Toa, and recently served as Acting Games Manager at New Zealand On Air, supporting local businesses to access public funding in the creative tech sector. With solid governance experience from owning his own company and serving on the board of the New Zealand Game Developers Association, Dan knows how to balance vision with accountability.

Dan believes Wellington is overdue for a reset. “Council spending feels out of control,” he says. “Too many decisions are driven by political agendas that don’t reflect the real needs of residents. I want to be part of the solution, focusing on revitalising our city in cost-effective, practical ways, getting back to basics, and ensuring our core services are fit for purpose.”

Dan lives in Newtown with his wife Laura, their young son Harrison, two dogs, and a cat.
